I've got a cold (Atchoooooo!)

My oldest daughter has had a cold since this weekend and last night I noticed that it was my turn! Managed through my day at school but after supper I have been on the couch upstairs with my coffee. Then I lugged myself downstairs to the rec room where the floor is slightly heated .Brought the french marked bag (that I knit/feltet a little while ago )with me. It's excellent for my current projects- and the colour goes soooo well with my upstairs couch! The yarn is "Fritidsgarn". I like felting it in the washing maschine because it doesn't bring me surprising results...(Knittet some slippers with it for last Christmas)
In between the kleenexes I finished the crocheted summer hat for my oldest. The youngest one got one already, so this one just had to get finished even though summer is definetly over in this town! Now I just wish I could get more sophisticated in my blogging... but it'll hav to wait, my brain isn't working very well tonight. Too stuffed up.

Birthday present sent off!

This scarf I sent off to my niece yesterday. She is turning 16 in a few days. Since the yar didn't cost quite as much as we usually spend on presents, I stuck an envelope with the rest inside the scarf... Hope she'll like it.
My oldest daughter bought herself a desk yesterday. She still had money left from Christmas- can you believe it! Both the girls got money to shop at IKEA for their room that year. Bill (my hubbie) spent about 4 hours assemblying the damn thing ,but the two of them has a nice father/daughter time doing it... Today him and I assembled her old closet and stuck it in the storage roo.- Well; shouldn't have done that... We looked around and Bill decided that that room were to be organized and cleaned out -today! (He clearly wasn't quite himself..!haha) So that's how most of the day went. Carrying stuff up to the attic, piling junk in a corner of the rec room,...Guess what we're going to do tomorrow after work: Loading a trailor with junk that is going to the dump. Actually I'm quite content after this ordeal. AND I still had time to work on my two Christmas presents.
Now I' more than ready for a shower!

Slowly progressing...

My Christmas presents are slowly but surely gettingworked on. I'm making this table runner for my parents for Christmas. It has the same pattern as their china. Have had the pattern in my binder for a couple of years, so it was about time I did something about it. But it's tedious work, especially when this is my first week back at school- teaching grade 2 this year. I haven't taught this age group for years, so I spent a lot of energy on planning this week. But that'll get better as the weeks go by. But this means that some projects are easier to do in front of the Tv at night than others. I have decided to work on this one more this weekend though. It's one of those things that I might just give up on if I leave it for too long...
Tomorrow I'm bying what I need to strech my finished Kaffe Fassett needlepoint cushion into shape!

worked hard today!

How much can you cram into one Sunday? A lot, I can tell you that! went at it in the garden today, weeding flowerbeds etc. I definetly want an easier spring next year than I had this year,-garden-wise, that is. Then I did a lot of much needed housework- and got my girls involved- a task in itself...
My oldest has dragged all her clothes out of her closet, having an organizing day. A positive thing in itself, but she has decided to get rid of that closet all together, so after a late supper my husband and I tore that thing apart.
So........next on my agenda is KNITTING!
Here are some things on the needles right now:
A sweater for my husband- he doesn't believe it anymore.I have worked on it for three years- with long pauses in between. I eagerly work on these kings of project until I get to the part of the pattern that outrules any TV-watching or conversation.
The other thing is a scarf my youngest daughter has given up on. Fyn yarn, but too hard to knit for a 10 year old -with not all THAT much patience..
The third project is a feltet purse I invent as I go along. I crochet the front and back (the front is already feltet- had to try) the sides and handle is knittet(not in the photo)
I have some other sucessfully finished project - and one on the go that I cannot publish since my sister is looking in on my blog...It would spoil her birthday/Christmas....

Recent projects- some unfinished.

Early this summer I brought my parent's garden swing home with me (they wanted to throw it out!). I painted it white, got out some old fabric I had im my attic(my grandmother had it in a trunk before I got it) and -voila- I have a shabby chic -style place in my back yard. It is my favourite place in the summer (if weather permits- not to be taken for granted in Norway!).An old crab apple tree gives just the right shade.
