Norwegian Olympic Knitting Team!

A button for the Norwegian team has been made by Strikkelise
I found the button at Bagatell's page; another blog worth reading together with Strikkelise's.She is an amazing knitter/blogger/writer for Knitty
and here is the button.

Flash your stash!

I am not going to flash my yarn stash. Instead I am showing off glass from my great grandma. This handpainted, extremely thin glass tray I only take out of the cupboard once a year for putting little merengues on at Christmas.
The carafe is just as fragile. Aren't they beautiful!?

Some finished January projects to show off. Some still in the making, too!

Finished a bowl for "stuff" (for my bathroom) using package string. I'll make more of those, I think!
Working on a pair of woolen tights for my nephew to wear underneath his snowpants is a tedious project for Impatient Me. My excuse is that it's size 8. But I'm working at it, as you can see! Almost done with the "butt-part"
In beetween I have finished two of the little hearts I startet (scrapped the 3. one.Not an acceptable result).
I finished my embroidery from KAFFE FASSETT a loooong time ago, but have forgotten to put it in my blog. Here it is.
Haven't been too eager at grabbing my crocheted curtains. Brought it with me once to the knitting cafe, but today I will spend some time with it while I watch the sports on TV.(Skiing!)
AND I WILL TAG ALONG ON THE "FLASH YOUR STASH" STARTING THIS COMING TUESDAY!

Yarn Harlot: Great idea!

I signed up for another "knit-along" on her web site. Go for it yourself!Go to Yarn Harlot and read her great blog. go here to find the sign up page with rules and all.
Knit something challenging during the 16 days of the Winter Olympics!I'll make a hat with beads knitted into it. Never tried beads before.

Sock-along 2006

Here are my first pair of socks for the Sock-along I signed up for through Hobbyboden all done- and they had been on my daughter's feet before I had a chance to take this photo. We're supposed to knit a pair of socks every month. The title of this post is a link to the sock-along..

The other knitting project here is a pair of woolen pants for my youngest nephew. Yarn: Nagano form Gjestdal. Excellent yarn!I'm in no rush to finish, they will most likely be for his birthday in November! Pretty boring to knit- but that's fine if you watch TV for example, or want to chat as much as possible while at a knitting cafe! (and our cafe is now every week- upon visitor's request- alternating Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

I have knitted another one of these shawls- a red one like the one in front of this photo. Haven't taken a picture, but it is exactly the same, only different buttons.

My oldest turned 14 on Saturday! It is our tradition to wake the birthday girl with the birthday song, presents and a tray in the morning so I had my alarmclock set even though it was a day off work. Here is the tray:

Time to start (many) new projects!

I think this is a good time of year to start all kinds of little and big projects- so that I can spend the rest of the years fighting to finish all the UFO's i have created.Ha
I even signed up for a Sock-along!These January socks are for my oldest daughter. i'm knitting with Sisu. I swear- the next pair will be in a soft pastel colour- the haphazardly pattern of colours in these socks are a little too much...
Here are also some sewn hearts I'm working on...Cute and useless things to hang on...a doorknob maybe? I'll take a new picture when they are done.
And- to flash my stash- as Manne in hobbyboden- encouraged us to do; here is some of the yarn.I have posted this picture before, but now I intend to start knitting a jacket for myself with it- self designed and everything! Hopefully I will have started at the end of this month.it is discontinued colours of Sisik yarn. Soft and lovely- and warm I would hope.
