cottage weekend
It's been too long... First our new ADSL worked perfectly- then we were without phone and internet connection for a while- now we're okay- i think...
Have been really busy lately, my goal was originally to post something every weekend. Anhow ; here I am.
We've been spending the weekend at the cottage up in the mountains (see photo of GORGEOUS VIEW!) The colours are really happening now.
I have a basket full of yarn up there; it will end up as a blanket for snoozing on the couch. Whenever I'm up there I knit a few squares. This weekend I had no needles!!!! Forgot that I had used them for a scarf I started up there- and then brought with me home to finish.
Well- if you are hooked on knitting you'll find a way: The kids had paintbrushes! It worked fine.(see photo)
I took pictures of two felted hens and a pair of felted slippers that I made earlier while I was up there.
On Saturday we picked some blueberries and some "tyttebær". Yummy stuff. ("tyttebær" is similar to cranberries, only smaller. Can be used as cranberries -with your turkey dinner, pork roast, etc, but you can also whip them together with sugar and it makes the most delicious jam!
We are now back home, have been in the shower (even the dog!) and is all set to do nothing this evening (except knitting-and undoing some of the damage I did to the needlepoint I'm working on."#¤%&§: you know what I mean....)

Spa night for the girls
Our planned spa night was a success! We rented movies, prepared snacks, showered, used the body lotions, put on pyjamases, applied face masks(unbearable to wear for more than 10 minutes!), lit candles and watched a movie. The girls picked a Hilary Duff movie. When they went to bed I stayed up really late and watched "Sideways". Not bad...!During the Duff movie I had to supply with some knitting.....
Today I have finished organizing our hobby supplies. My cabinet downstairs in the storage room appears extremely tidy, my upstairs shelf with painting stuff as well, the kids jigsaw puzzles are nicely put away in a wicker trunk, and all the different patterns I keep tearing out of magazines are now in one spot!!!!(although not organized any further...)
Now I just had to do some blogging in order to procrastinate the ironing.Hate ironing. It shows on the pile on top of the washing machine!
This coming week we are installing ASDL and I suspect some days will go by without me blogging.. maybe I'm being pessimistic but I do anticipate some minor problems along the way.

This will be a lovely Saturday, I'm sure!
Despite the fact that I still have a bad cold, this Saturday looks promising: My girls made French Toast for breakfast-AND cleaned up the kitchen afterwards! The weather is lovely and there is the yearly event of "Kjerringsveiven" in town.http://www.kjerringsveiven.no/. this is a 9 km walk around our gorgeous mountain Gaustatoppen.http://www.gaustatoppen.no/. The town is crowded with women participating and there are booths with crafts and artprojects in town. At night people go to any of the entertainment events that are on or go to a pub or restaurant. My husband is away so I'm not going anywhere. Besides, the cold is forcing me to go slowly about whatever task I do...My oldest has suggested we have an all-girl-spa-evening. We have downloaded some recipies for homemade facial masks this morning, we will sit around in housecoats with our feet in water and munch veggies and dips while we watch movies. There might be some nailpolish applied... Sounds like fun?
oh- by the way I have made a web site about Gaustatoppen myself a few years ago- unfortunately only in Norwegian, but check it out:http://it-student.hivolda.no/prosjekt/v00/Gaustatoppen_i_Tinn_iTelemark/
Yesterday I had to take my youngest uptown to get a birthday present. In this toy store they also sell yarn. ....Big basket sitting there with Sisik yarn for sale (discontinued colours). Could I help myself when only 15 kroner a skein? Noooo. Came home with 21 of them- hoping this will once become a long jacket for me. Now I'm just hunting for tips on how to make the knitting look like patchwork; there were three colours (See photo of yarn-pile!)
Have something wooly in the washing machine for felting right now- and here is a scarf of some exess yarn I had -I'm working on in it in between everything else...(terrible photo -too much sun made shadows.Sorry)
